CLARITY BEFORE CODE
A brief you can build from.
“Make it smart” or “make it easy” might start a conversation. They cannot tell a team what to build, or tell you whether the result is right.
We work with you to uncover the real decisions, hand-offs and edge cases behind a request. We separate essential outcomes from suggested solutions, identify assumptions and turn them into concrete questions. That is particularly important for AI-assisted development: a system can produce code very quickly while misunderstanding the task just as quickly.
Start with the job to be done
Who needs the result? What do they do today? Which delays, errors or missed opportunities matter most? We map the workflow before deciding how much technology it needs.
Make ambiguous words testable
We turn “fast”, “accurate”, “secure” and “easy” into agreed examples, constraints and measurable acceptance criteria. Where judgement is involved, we describe the review and escalation path.
Specify the uncomfortable cases
What happens when data is missing, systems disagree, an AI response is wrong or a person needs to override a decision? A credible specification covers failures and boundaries, not just the happy path.
Build, show, adjust
Short review cycles put working behaviour in front of you early. We document decisions, test against the agreed criteria and keep the specification aligned with what is learned.
We can prepare briefs that are precise enough for conventional teams or AI-assisted implementation: defined inputs and outputs, examples, interfaces, constraints, tests and explicit limits on autonomous behaviour. The result is less guesswork and fewer expensive surprises.
What a project might look like.
Find the real problem
Understand users, systems, data and constraints. Agree what success will mean.
Test the difficult bits
Prototype the risky assumptions before committing to a wider build.
Make it dependable
Build, verify, hand over and refine with the people who will use it.
Have an idea that needs shaping?
It can start with a conversation, not a finished requirements document.
